Privacy Policy

Effective date: November 1, 2025
Last updated: August 9, 2026

Homeoration (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the website homeoration.com (the “Site”). This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over it — including specific rights for California residents under the CCPA/CPRA.

By using the Site, you agree to this policy.

Notice at Collection

We collect the categories of personal information listed below. We collect it to operate the Site, deliver content you request, measure how the Site performs, and serve advertising. We do not sell your personal information for money. We do share personal information with advertising partners for cross-context behavioral advertising, which counts as “sharing” under California law — you can opt out at any time using the instructions in the “Your California Privacy Rights” section.

We retain each category only as long as needed for the purpose described, or as required by law. Specific retention periods are listed in the Data Retention section.

  • Preferences you submit, such as room type or color palette selections, when you use an interactive tool on the Site.

How We Use Your Information

  • To deliver the content, downloads, and emails you request
  • To operate, maintain, and secure the Site
  • To understand which content is useful and improve what we publish
  • To measure the performance of affiliate links and advertising
  • To display advertising, including interest-based advertising
  • To respond to your questions and requests
  • To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms

Advertising and Affiliate Relationships

Amazon Associates. Homeoration is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases. When you click an Amazon link on our Site, Amazon may set cookies to attribute any resulting purchase to us. Amazon’s use of your information is governed by Amazon’s own privacy notice, not this one.

Other affiliate programs. We may participate in additional affiliate networks and merchant programs. These operate the same way: a click sets a cookie, and if you buy something we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. See our affiliate disclaimer for full details.

Advertising networks. We may display advertising served by third-party ad networks and their partners. These companies may use cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies to collect information about your visits to this and other websites in order to show you ads relevant to your interests. This activity constitutes “sharing” of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising under California law.

Third parties that may collect information through advertising on the Site include Google and its advertising partners. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this Site and other sites on the internet. You can opt out of personalized advertising by Google at Google Ads Settings, and you can opt out of interest-based advertising from many participating companies at optout.aboutads.info and optout.networkadvertising.org.

Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We and our partners use the following categories of cookies:

  • Strictly necessary — required for the Site to function, including security and load balancing. These cannot be disabled.
  • Analytics — help us understand how visitors use the Site. We use Google Analytics 4 for this purpose.
  • Advertising — used by ad networks and affiliate programs to measure performance and serve relevant ads.
  • Functional — remember preferences, such as whether you have already dismissed a signup form.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers let you refuse cookies, delete existing cookies, or alert you when a cookie is set. Blocking all cookies may cause parts of the Site to stop working correctly.

Global Privacy Control. We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. If your browser or extension sends a GPC signal, we treat it as a valid request to opt out of the sale and sharing of personal information for that browser.

Do Not Track. Because there is no consistent industry standard for interpreting Do Not Track browser signals, we do not respond to them. We do honor GPC, as described above.

Service Providers We Use

We share personal information with the following categories of service providers, who process it only to perform services for us:

  • Google Analytics (Google LLC) — website analytics
  • EmailOctopus — email list management and delivery
  • Hostinger — website hosting
  • Cloudflare — content delivery, security, and bot mitigation
  • Advertising networks and affiliate programs — as described above

We do not sell your personal information for monetary consideration. We do not disclose your email address to advertisers.

Email Communications

If you subscribe, we use your email address to send the resource you requested and occasional emails about new content, design guides, and products. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of every email, or by emailing us at the address below. Unsubscribing removes you from marketing emails; we may still send transactional messages, such as delivering a file you specifically requested.

Your California Privacy Rights

If you are a California resident, you have the following rights under the CCPA as amended by the CPRA:

  • Right to know — request the specific pieces and categories of personal information we have collected about you, the sources, our purposes, and the categories of third parties we disclosed it to.
  • Right to delete — request that we delete personal information we collected from you, subject to legal exceptions.
  • Right to correct — request that we correct inaccurate personal information.
  • Right to opt out of sale or sharing — direct us to stop sharing your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
  • Right to limit use of sensitive personal information — we do not collect sensitive personal information, so this right does not apply.
  • Right to non-discrimination — we will not deny you service, charge you a different price, or provide a different quality of service because you exercised any of these rights.

How to exercise these rights. Email us at [email protected] with the subject line “California Privacy Request” and tell us which right you are exercising. To opt out of sharing for advertising, you can also enable Global Privacy Control in your browser, or use the “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link in our footer.

Verification. To protect your information, we will ask you to confirm control of the email address associated with your data before we act on a request to know, delete, or correct. We do not require verification for opt-out requests.

Timing. We will confirm receipt within 10 business days and respond substantively within 45 days. If we need more time, we will tell you and may take up to 90 days total.

Authorized agents. You may use an authorized agent to submit a request. We will ask the agent for written permission signed by you and may ask you to verify your identity directly.

Rights for Other U.S. States

Residents of Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana, and other states with comprehensive privacy laws have similar rights to access, correct, delete, and obtain a portable copy of their personal information, and to opt out of targeted advertising. Use the same contact method above and we will handle your request under your state’s law. If we deny your request, you may appeal by replying to our response; some states also allow you to complain to your attorney general.

Rights for Visitors in the EU and UK

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, and port your personal information, and to object to processing. Our legal bases are consent (for marketing emails and non-essential cookies), legitimate interests (for security, analytics, and improving our content), and legal obligation where applicable. You may withdraw consent at any time and may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

Data Retention

  • Email subscriber data — kept until you unsubscribe, then deleted within 30 days.
  • Analytics data — retained by Google Analytics for 14 months, then automatically deleted.
  • Comment data — retained indefinitely so follow-up comments display correctly, unless you ask us to delete it.
  • Contact emails — retained for up to 24 months.

Children’s Privacy

The Site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and we do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, email us and we will delete it.

Data Security

We use HTTPS encryption sitewide and rely on reputable providers for hosting and email. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

International Transfers

The Site is operated with infrastructure that may process data in the United States and other countries. If you access the Site from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to and processed in countries whose data protection laws differ from those in your jurisdiction.

Links to Other Sites

The Site contains links to third-party websites, including retailers. We are not responsible for their privacy practices. Read their policies before providing personal information.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will change the “Last updated” date at the top and, for material changes, post a notice on the Site.
